I was told later it was because the driver accepted the ride, then saw the fare wouldn't be too high (under $5) and so this was an attempt to get me to cancel and pay the fee. Is this a thing?
Driver's can cancel – which he did after I texted him I would report him since he wasn't picking up the phone – but not sure if this is seen as a penalty.
